Sofia Kiprskaya, Harp and Principal Musicians of the Mariinsky Orchestra

Principal musicians of St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky Orchestra join the exceptional young harpist Sofia Kiprskaya for an evening of contemporary and romantic chamber music. The program of solo and chamber works is designed to highlight the virtuosity of the harp, as well as the Mariinsky Orchestra players’ supreme musicianship.

22-year-old Sofia Kiprskaya is a top prizewinner of numerous international harp competitions, performing as a soloist and principal harpist with the Mariinsky Orchestra, while a fourth-year student at the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. Kiprskaya’s 2013-14 season includes performances throughout Russia, North America, Europe and Asia.

Each of the principal musicians of the Mariinsky Orchestra is an award-winning soloist and orchestral performer. Under the helm of Maestro Valery Gergiev, the Mariinsky Orchestra has become one of the leading symphony orchestras in Russia and the world.
